Overview

This 7-hour course - Basic Modeling Functions - is delivered in two sessions and enables participants to leverage the modeling capabilities of SAFIâ„¢ software.

Session 1: Introduction to Basic Analysis Functions
Modeling with the various SAFIâ„¢ software applications is user-friendly and intuitive. This course enables participants to master the basic commands and functions required for efficient use of the software.

Session 2: Modeling and Application of Basic Functions
This session offers a hands-on introduction, with an emphasis on modeling through concrete examples. Participants will learn to navigate the interface, use the basic tools, and create simple 3D models in a structured and efficient manner.

Session 1 : Basic Analysis Functions

Explore the following of SAFIâ„¢ software:

• Detailed exploration of the features and tools of the interface for optimal software onboarding.
• General tools: general options, unit system, display driver settings, working directory, results management, editor, saving, license update, contextual help.
• Properties: standard and non-standard materials and sections.
• Model: grid, joints, members, plates and shells*, mesh*, integration lines*, load surfaces.
• Loads: load types, weights and masses*, basic loads, load combinations, center of gravity calculation*.
• Graphical functions: camera tools, selection tools, graphical tools, display options. • Editing: search, renumber, geometric calculator.
• Exercise: Simple 2D model

*Brief introduction only - these elements are covered in depth in the Advanced Modeling Functions course.

Session 2 : Basic Analysis Functions

Explore the following items of SAFIâ„¢ software:

• Brief recap of the previous session
• Analysis: Data verification, Linear static analysis, Analysis options, Member analysis results
• Results: Graphical results in the model, Results animation, Numerical results (Tables, Results charts)
• Reports: Generation options, Formats
• Transfers: SAFI table transfer and Model transfer
• Exercises: Creating a 3D model
• Exercises: Error detection in a 3D model
