SAFI™ is looking for candidates with a keen interest in the field of structural design. Various positions are available, in particular in the field of bridge design, electrical tower design, and others. The people sought will occupy a full-time position in our R&D offices.

Under the supervision of the Director of Research and Development and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, the person sought will occupy an important position in the development of SAFI™ software.

Structural Engineer — Computer Software Engineering

Full-Time · R&D Office

Join the R&D team behind our structural analysis and design software, contributing to technologies used by engineering firms worldwide.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of high-level software and thus contribute to the development of state-of-the-art technologies used on a national and international levels
  • Have the opportunity to identify innovative, productive and integrated solutions in design, manufacturing and construction
  • Work on a daily basis with a team of passionate, dedicated and dynamic people
  • Work in a cutting-edge digital environment that is constantly evolving, motivating and conducive to surpassing oneself

Primary Requirements

Education

  • Holding a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution - Civil Engineering // Structural Engineering
  • Holding a Master's degree or a Doctorate (an asset)

Skills

  • Knowledge of programming languages (C++ or other)
  • Ability to manage key projects while respecting budgets and deadlines
  • Mature written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. Effective in working independently or within a cross-functional team
  • Must use time efficiently and develop realistic achievable action plans

Experience

  • A few years of relevant experience
  • Being a member of a Professional Board of Engineers

Structural Draftsman

Full-Time · Engineering Team

Prepare shop and fabrication drawings for structural projects, working closely with our engineering team.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare shop drawings and fabrication plans
  • Develop structural drawings from engineers' design direction
  • Revise and update drawings based on review comments
  • Collaborate with the engineering teams
  • Ensure drawings comply with applicable standards and codes
  • Take part in checks and interdisciplinary coordination

Primary requirements

Education

  • Diploma (DEC or AEC) in building drafting, civil engineering technology, or a related field

Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (and/or Revit, and other software)
  • Knowledge of various fabrication software
  • Attention to detail, rigor, and autonomy
  • Good ability to work as part of a team

Experience

  • Experience in structural drafting, an asset depending on the level sought (junior/intermediate/senior)

Assets

  • Knowledge of data exchange processes such as IFC (Industry Foundation Class)
  • Bilingualism (French/English)
