The Concrete Calculatorâ„¢ is a simple and powerful tool allowing users to analyze and design reinforced concrete beams, slabs and columns cross sections as well as reinforced concrete footings. The Concrete Calculatorâ„¢ enables swift and effortless analysis or design of reinforced concrete sections without the need to create and assess an entire structural model (joints, members, load combinations, etc.).

It is an easy and productive tool for the analysis and design of reinforced concrete cross sections. It allows to determine the resistance or the reinforcement of a section in mere seconds. The reinforcement bars are selected from the built-in bar libraries. The bar libraries can be used independently from the design standard (Canadian reinforcement bars can be used with the American ACI standard for example).

The Concrete Calculator can be used in French or English with metric units, imperial units or any combinations of metric and imperial units.

The Concrete Calculator covers:
· Strength and reinforcement of rectangular, T, L and I sections in bending
· Tension and compression reinforcement of beam sections
· Reinforcement for shear and equilibrium and compatibility torsion
· Strength and reinforcement of one way slabs
· Strength and reinforcement of columns in compression and bi-axial bending
· Interaction diagrams for columns

•The program designs the required reinforcement bars of rectangular, T, L and I beam sections as well as one-way slabs in pure bending.
•The program allows to design for a user defined reinforcement ratio and provides compression reinforcement when required.
•It designs the required reinforcement bars of rectangular, T, L and I beam sections in shear and torsion.
•The program allows to design using straight or inclined stirrups as well as series or bundled bent bars.
•The program accounts for axial forces, equilibrium torsion as well as compatibility torsion.
•It designs the required reinforcement bars of rectangular and circular column sections in combined compression and bending or tension and bending.
•The program allows to specify a target reinforcement ratio and calculates the optimal column dimensions.
•Second order effects such as lateral drift and member stability are taken into account when requested.
•The interaction diagrams for the calculated reinforcement bars are also provided as output.
•In situations where the reinforcement is known, the program calculates the resistance of the cross section and corresponding data such as stresses in concrete and reinforcement bars and reinforcement ratios.
•Libraries of standard metric and imperial material properties are available.
•Customized materials can also be created.
•Large number of solved problems and references are available.

The analysis and design can be carried for beams and columns subjected to bending, shear, torsion and axial loads for various section shapes.

The Concrete Calculator allows to design a reinforced concrete section according to the known forces and moments acting on this section or to calculate the resistance of a section when the dimensions and reinforcement are known.

The Concrete Calculatorâ„¢ covers:
– Strength and reinforcement of rectangular, T, L and I sections in bending
– Tension and compression reinforcement of beam sections
– Reinforcement for shear and equilibrium and compatibility torsion
– Strength and reinforcement of one-way slabs

The Foundation Calculator allows users to quickly and easily design reinforced concrete footings without the need to create and analyze a complete structural model (joints, members, load combinations, etc.).

The supported footing types are isolated square and rectangular footings, strip (wall) footings and combined footings. The input data consist of entering the type of footing, the applied loads, the required design parameters, the design standard, the type of column (or wall) and optionally the dimensions.

The reinforcement bars are selected from the built-in bar libraries. The bar libraries can be used independently from the design standard (Canadian reinforcement bars can be used with the American ACI standard for example).

The Foundation Calculator currently supports the following design standards:
– ACI 318-14 and ACI 318-19 American reinforced concrete standard
– A23.3-04, A23.3-04 and A23.3-19 Canadian reinforced concrete standard
– ECP 203-2018 Egyptian reinforced concrete standard

The Concrete Calculator software streamlines the analysis and design process of reinforced concrete beams, slabs and columns cross sections as well as reinforced concrete footings. The Foundation Calculator allows users to quickly and easily design reinforced concrete footings without the need to create and analyze a complete structural model (joints, members, load combinations).

It eliminates the necessity of inputting analysis models or manually ensuring compliance with standard section requirements.

The Concrete Calculator is used by structural engineers, project managers, University researchers and professors, students,  mechanical engineers, architects, structural technicians, estimators and designers, other members of the construction industry.

The Concrete Calculator software is used as a standalone application or in combination with the GSE Concrete – General Structural Engineering (GSE) software.

GSE Concrete offers a versatile platform for designing concrete members subjected to a range of analyses, including linear, P-Delta, non-linear, seismic, dynamic analysis, and more. The software also provides efficient tools for concrete slab design. It aligns with industry standards such as the American ACI-318, the Canadian CSA-A23.3, and the Egyptian code ECCS 203.

GSE Concrete allows for complete slab design within the same environment. It allows users to quickly generate the design strips of any concrete slabs. The assistant, called Slab Engineering, generates column strips and middle strips that are adapted to the geometries of the bidirectional span of the slab. This assistant is directly linked to the automated mesh generation functionalities, allowing to use the geometrical elements such as supports, walls and openings for both the finite elements model and the design strips generation.
